Marilyn Langham Moore

We mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Marilyn Langham Moore who passed away from natural causes on August 2, 2023. She was 83 years old.

Marilyn was born to Joe Cross Langham and Bessie Mae Rackley on November 13, 1939. She grew up in Pecos and lived there until her marriage to William (Billy) Moore in 1961. She made her home with Billy in Balmorhea until his death in 1995.

Marilyn was proud to serve as the Postmaster in Balmorhea for more than 30 years. She was a devoted member of the 1st Baptist Church in Balmorhea throughout her adult life, living her faith in good times and bad until the day she left us.

Marilyn moved to Fort Worth in 2014 to be closer to her daughter, Stacey. She thrived in the retirement community she lived in, forming new friendships and having experiences that filled her days with laughter and love.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Thomas (Son) Langham, sister Wilma Langham Johnson, and nephew Randall Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Stacey Moore; brother Joe Wayne Langham; nephews Kyle Johnson and Bill Hoffman; and nieces Sherrie Langham Arnold, Lori Langham Kelley, Teresa Hoffman Shackelford, and Holly Moore.
