Louise McGinty Cranfill, age 102, of Barstow, TX, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at her home in Barstow, TX.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kevin D. Zimdars of North Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Barstow Cemetery.
Mary Louise McGinty was born on March 10, 1916 in Barstow, TX to William and Ariana McGinty. She graduated from Barstow TX and went on to marry Murrah Cranfill in 1935. She started her career as a bookkeeper for Farmers Irrigation Office in Pecos, and later worked for Kesey Oil Company. After retirement Louise and her sister, Ruth, owned and operated Kirby Sales and Repair. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Barstow in her early years, then North Temple Baptist Church of Pecos during the last years of her life.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Murrah Cranfill, her daughter Murriel Ann Shaw, her son John Wayne Cranfill. Her sisters Bernice Cranfill, Loyce McGinty, Ruth Willman, and her brother Hugh McGinty. Grandson's Steven Hughes, Scott Cranfill and one great granddaughter Cristi Cox.
Louise is survived by grandson Daniel Hughes of Midland, TX, granddaughter Debra Diehl and her husband Ray Diehl of Corpus Christi, TX and granddaughter Karen Chowning and her husband Michael Chowning of Monahans, TX. Great granddaughters Mandy Hendrix, Misti Link, Lyndsay Bates, Megan Toney and great grandson Bryan Chowning. Great great grandchildren Hayden Hughes, Hannah Hendrix, Crista Link, Talyssa Link, Ben Link, Harper Bates, Kailey Bates, Amber Gutierrez, Zackaria Toney, Zailey Toney and Dominik Chowning.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Cranfill, Bryan Chowning, Michael Chowning, Jeff Cranfill, Syrus Cranfill, and Jim Carter.
A family legacy has left this earth and will be greatly missed. Her life was spent giving and receiving lots of love to a large family. Family and friends alike have many stories to remember her and remember we will. You will never be forgotten. Memorials may be given to West of the Pecos Museum in honor of her memory.
