Mary Elizabeth Nabers Prewit, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 at Pecos Nursing Home.
Mary was born in Desdemona, Texas February 4, 1921 to Pearl Bolding Nabers and Roger Vernon Nabers. She moved to Pecos at the age of six and resided at Nabers Acres north of town.
Mary was a woman of many talents. She was an avid historian and taught art, dance, swimming, diving, or whatever else anyone wanted to know. She was fluent in three languagesEnglish, Spanish, and Profanity.
Mary was loved by all people. You might find her playing piano in a New Orleans bar on Bourbon Street, Dancing at a Pow Wow in Oklahoma, or playing the accordion, singing Cielito Lindo. She lived it all and did it well. Mary was a true free spirit with a great sense of humor.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Prewit parents Pearl and R.V. Nabers and sister Dorothy Nabers Curfman. She is survived by four children, sons John Prewit, Jr. and wife Janet, Mike Prewit and wife Misty, Steve Prewit and wife Lesli, and daughter Mary Jay Bradley ten grandchildren twelve greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos. She was a Baptist.
