Mary Uranga

Mary Lou Uranga, 83 of Van Horn, passed away in Odessa Texas on Wednesday, December 09, 2015.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Van Horn from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Van Horn, with Wes Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn.
Mary Lou was born in Van Horn, Texas on February 23, 1932 to Pablo and Benita Ortega. Mary married J.A. "Chuy" Uranga in 1956. In 1959 Mary and Chuy purchased Chuy's restaurant and the couple operated their business together until Chuy passed in 2008.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years J.A. Chuy Uranga, her parents Pablo & Benita and two great grandchildren. Mary is also preceded in death by her brothers, Celestino Ortega, Paul Ortega, Bill Ortega, Alberto Ortega and a sister Virginia Morales.
Mary is survived by her children Barbra Ramirez and husband Chito of Odessa, Paul Uranga and wife Julie of Van Horn, along with six granddaughters and four great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her sister Carmen Rodriguez.
