Maxine Ephriam Dade, 79, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2018 at her home.
Maxine was born in Wharton, Texas to Irvin "Funny" Ephriam and Lillie Mae Samuel on June 12, 1939. She later married Windell Louis Dade on July 5, 1958 in Pecos, Texas. Maxine worked as an operator for Pecos Garment Factory for a few years, and then as a beloved health aide for many years. She was involved in many city activities such as serving as a voting clerk and judge for city elections. Maxine was also very dutiful in church, where she served as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, and assisted with church finances and so much more. She loved the Lord and did not hesitate in serving and doing His will.
Maxine is preceded in death by: her precious husband-Windell Louis Dade; her parents-- Lillie Mae and Irvin Ephriam; her sister-- Lillie J. Walker; her brother-- Irvin "Duke" Ephriam; her daughter-Willie Mae Simmons; her son-Eddie Darnell Wright; and her granddaughter-Ridessa Wright.
Maxine is survived by: her son-Jimmy Lee Wright; her daughters-LaRecce W. Smith (Willie) of Odessa, Texas, Patricia D. Barlow (Roy) of Texarkana, Texas; her siblings-Mattie J. Moseley of Pecos, Texas, Ernestine Deming of Duncanville, Texas, Don Barton of Pecos, Texas, and Doris L. Ephriam of Midland, Texas; grandchildren-Marcus Wright, Adrian Jenkins, Vanessa L. Simmons, Tressa Wright, Justin W. Barlow, and Cedric J. Smith; and a host of both great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on October 19, 2018 at Pecos Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on October 20, 2018 at Pecos Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Barnes of St. James Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
