Miguel (Mike) Lara 90 of Pecos passed away on Dec. 17, 2017 in Midland Texas. Miguel was born in San Angelo Texas on May 8, 1927 to Fermin Lara and Isabel Melendez Lara. Visitation will be held on Wednesday Dec. 20, 2017 from 9:00 am to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be held on Wed. Dec. 20, 2017 at 7:30 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be held on Thursday Dec. 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Santa Rosa Cemetery. He was married to Angela Lara on May 23, 1947 In Pecos, Tx. He worked in the Pecos Valley Sothern Railroad, Manager at Western Auto in Pecos and was Municipal Judge for the city of Pecos. He was a veteran and served in the National Guard. He was involved with the Lulac organization, was a boxing referee, played guitar for a conjunto in Pecos, and was actively involved with the community in Pecos. He was a parishioner at the Santa Rosa De Lima Church, and a De Colores Cruisiesta . He is preceded in death by his wife Angela Lara, Son Roy Lara, Granddaughter Nicole Acosta, Sisters Helen Tapia, Irene Licon, Raquel Orona and brother Ismael Lara. He is survived by son Mike Lara married to Irma Granado; Daughter Elva Gomer married to Jim Gomer, and Lupe Acosta married to Nobel Acosta ; 7 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; 4 sisters, Lola Garcia of Pecos, Otilia Ballez of Los Banos, CA, Margie Adams of Spring, Tx, Sophia De Vault of Merced, CA.
