Mike Molinar, 64, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. Mike was born on May 30, 1960, to Raul and Delma Molinar in Alpine, Texas. He was raised in Pecos. On November 10, 1979, he married the love of his life, Natalia “Neddie” Vasquez, in Pecos. Mike worked as a correctional officer at Reeves County Detention Center (RCDC) for many years.
Mike lived life with a vibrant spirit and enjoyed every moment to the fullest. He was an loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and loved cruising through the barrio, listening to Tejano music. Known for his big heart, Mike was always generous, ensuring that no one went hungry. He would frequently take plates of food to friends, the less fortunate, and those working through holidays or without family. Family traditions and spending time with loved ones brought him great joy. Mike was also known for his incredible BBQ skills, especially his famous brisket, which was loved by all.
Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Natalia “Neddie” Molinar; father, Raul Molinar; and brother-in-law, Frank Hernandez.
Mike is survived by his mother, Mrs. Delma Molinar; daughters, La Crisha Molinar and Dee Molinar Marquez, and her husband Adrian Marquez, all of Pecos; sister, Monette Molinar of San Angelo; brother, Rene Molinar, and wife Belinda of Odessa; grandchildren, Lane Zapien, Zavien Marquez, and Amaris Marquez; nephew, Quincy Molinar; and niece, Brittany Molinar, Great Nieces Bailey Stanley and Lauren Stanley, and Great Nephew Ian Molinar.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Marquez, Daniel Hernandez, Lane Zapien, Quincy Molinar, Kujan Stanley, Genaro Rodriguez, and Krys Mitchell.
Visitation for Mike will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 10:30am - 9:00pm with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Pecos Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, followed by burial at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Pecos Funeral Home.
