Nicanor Fierro

January 10, 1921 — February 18, 2019

Nicanor " Nick" Silvas Fierro, 98, of Pecos passed away on Feb. 18, 2018 at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos Texas.
He was born on January 10, 1921 in Ruidosa, Texas to Eugenio and Carmen Silvas Fierro.
He worked for the Railroad Corporation for many years. He also worked at the Dairy Farms in Pecos and Artesia, New Mexico. He also worked for the City of Pecos Sanitation Department where he retired from.
Nick was a member of the Santa Rosa men's choir, and Crusillista. He loved gardening and all types of animals. His legacy will live on in the hearts and mind of his children and all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, daddy, grandfather and friend. He will greatly be missed. He was known to the family as "our superhero". When growing up, we would tell Daddy, "I love you". His favorite response was always "me too".
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be said on Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the chapel. Mass will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 10 am at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church and burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marcela Fierro of 63 years.
Nick is survived by his children, daughter, Pilar Mata and husband Jose; son, Octavio Garcia and wife Prescilla; daughters, Dulces Fierro, and Maria Luisa Fierro; son, Joe Fierro and wife Elsie from Odessa; daughters, Angie Fierro; Lupita Delgado and husband Sergio; daughter, Gloria Natividad and husband Ramon. Twelve Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great -great granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Edward Licon, Nick Natividad, Crystal Millan, Justin Millan, Tracie & Richard Martinez, Melissa Fierro, and Leslie Garcia.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Jonah Delgado, Jayme Fierro, and Raymond Rayos
The family of Nicanor wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Cerna, Dr. Serrano, American Home Health Nurses, Reeves County Hospital medical staff for their attentiveness and care of our father. And to Mrs Katy Rayos and Fatu Darpolor for the care and love that they bestowed on our super hero. Over the years, he grew to love each of you as one of his own.
