Pablo R.Avila, 81 of Pecos TX., passed away Sunday morning, December 6th, 2020 at his home in Pecos. He was born January 25th, 1939 to Juan and Jacoba Rodriguez Avila in Barstow TX. He was a Christian Catholic, and retired from Texaco Production Company
He married Blanca Quezada on July 29, 1962 and were married for 58 years.
Pablo loved many sports including football, baseball, and boxing. He coached Peewee football for several years and coached several years for Pony League and Colt League Baseball as well. In his younger years, he fought as a professional boxer and eventually coached many young boys. He loved music and was a singer for Mariachi Perla for 13 years. In his leisure time he spent time playing golf and poker with many of his friends and family. He loved his church and would attend regularly until his health declined. He had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. He was proud of being a Marine, a great patriot and loved his country. But most of all, he loved his beautiful wife, 3 children, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was truly blessed. Dad, you will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Licha Aldez, Leandra Brito, and Natividad Mata, brothers; Nicolas, Florencio and Gregorio Abila.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Blanca Avila of Pecos, sons; Henry Avila and wife Gina of Conroe TX, Israel Avila and wife Linda of Round Rock TX, and daughter; Sandra Williams and husband Jeff of Hudson Oaks TX, sister; Eufemia Carrasco of Arlington, brother; Julian Abila of Odessa.
Visitation will be Monday December 14, 2020, from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a rosary beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Pecos Funeral Home, graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday December 15, 2020, at Greenwood Cemetery.
Due to COVID19 pandemic and outbreak ALL services are limited to immediate family only, up to 25 persons, there are no limits for attendance of the graveside, however masks and social distancing are required at all services.
