Patsy Wheeless

Patsy Jean Posey Wheeless, 83, of Pecos, Texas passed away peacefully at her residence on January 11, 2023.

A Memorial service will be held for Patsy on May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel

Patsy was born in Clarksville, Texas in Red River County to W.T. and Julia Lelon Posey on January 30, 1939. She spent much of her childhood in Fort Stockton, Texas, raising animals and attending stock shows. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University. She married her beloved Bailey Wheeless in Fort Stockton, Texas on January 20, 1964. She taught elementary education in Pecos for 45 years.

Like many a country girl, Patsy found happiness in simple things - starched blue jeans, stock shows, her students, West Texas rain storms,fishing and hunting.

But her family was  always her pride and joy. She especially took great pride in her grandchildren, Bryton and Hadyn

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, W.T. and Julia Lelon osey; her husband, Bailey Wheeless; and her daughter, Staci Lynn Wheeless.

She is survived by her daughter, Tobi Renee Stewart; her brother, Richard Thomas Posey of Wortham, Texas; her grandchildren, Bryton Stewart and Hadyn Stewart; her nieces, Kristy Posey Callahan and Brooke Posey Coffman; and her nephew Cody Posey.

Her life will be celebrated during a memorial anticipated for the spring.
