Rafaela Nunez Soto

Rafaela Nunez Soto, 68, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 in Pecos, Texas. Rafaela Soto was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico (Canada Ancha) to Paula Serrano and Florencio Nunez on October 24, 1955. She went to school in Ojinaga, Mexico. She trained for nursing at the Centro de Salud in Ojinaga, at 18. She married Adrian G. Soto on December 26,1982 in Valle De Zaragoza (Conchos), Chihuahua Mexico. Rafaela was a Pecos resident for many years.

Rafaela is preceded in death by Adrian G. Soto (spouse), parents Paula Serrano and Florencio Nunez, Siblings Luis Nunez and Armida Martinez.

Rafaela is survived by five children, son Adrian and spouse Asusena Soto, daughter Maria and spouse Mario Marquez from Pecos, Tx., daughter Vanessa and spouse Javier Lomeli from Kermit, Tx., son Paulo and spouse Maritza Ramirez Soto from Jal New Mexico, daughter Luz Elva and spouse Emilio Esteban from Odessa, Tx., her Siblings Tomas Nunez from Odessa, Tx., Fabian Nunez from Andrews, Tx., Maria Melchor from Odessa, Tx., Lorenzo Velasquez, Eustacio Velasquez from Andrews, Tx., Guadalupe Nunez Gabaldon from Odessa, Tx., Grandchildren Fernando Garcia Ochoa, Mitzy Santos, Angela Soto-Garcia, Itzel Marquez, Rafael Lomeli, Adrianna Soto-Garcia, Javier Lomeli, Miranda Ramirez, Nya Marquez, and Guadalupe Lomeli, Great-Grandchildren Betsy Carrasco Santos.

Pallbearers will be Adrian Soto, Paulo Soto, Javier Lomeli, Javier Lomeli, Rafael Lomeli, Emilio Esteban, Fernando Garcia Ochoa, and Jonathan Garcia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1 pm to 9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas, Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
