Ramon M Lara 73, of Pecos passed away Monday April1, 2019 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
He was born January 9, 1946 in Stanton, Texas to Modesto Lara and Olivia Marin Lara. He was a retired landscaping officer and a Christian catholic. He united in marriage June 13, 1970 to Moncerrate Quinonez in Pecos, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter Kiirsten Lara, 3-sisters Chega Paredez, Mena Paredez and Lala Villalobos and 4 brothers Chano, Bill, Guy and Chente Lara.
Ramon is survived by his wife Monce Lara of Pecos, Tx. Daughters Jennifer Lara Gibbons and husband Tim of Canyon Lake, Tx., Kristi Lara and fiancé Jaime Acosta of Pecos, Tx. and Gretchen Lara Ramirez and husband Angel Sr of Midland, Tx. Son Anthony Lara and wife Rebecca of Midland, Tx. Sisters Jessie Lara Ramirez and husband Saul of Pecos, Tx. and Olivia Carrasco of Monahans, Tx.
Mr. Lara also leaves to cherish his memories 4 granddaughters Courtney Painter, Cameron Rodriguez, Amaris Acosta and Destiny Ramirez. 8 grandsons Angel Ramirez Jr, Aiden Acosta, Ariel Acosta, Avery Raymond Rodriguez, Michael Tyler Rodriguez, Jacob Gibbons, Christian Gibbons and Anthony Lara Jr.
Great granddaughter Gia Lara and Great grandson Hayden Lara.
Ramon was a Vietnam war veteran of the United States Army, He was stationed in LZ Sherry and LZ Betty units in Howitzer Towes in Phat Theit, Vietnam in the 27th Artillery Battalion.
Visitation is set for Thursday April 4, 2019 from 9am-9pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass has been set for 10 Am Friday April 5, 2019 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church.
Burial with Military honors will follow at Greenwood cemetery.
