Roberto Florez

Roberto A. Florez, 88, of Barstow, Texas, passed away on January 1,2022 in Pecos, Texas. Roberto was born in Barstow, Texas to Faustino Florez and Arcadia Alvarado Florez on June 7, 1933. He went to school at Barstow. He married Geneva Sanchez Morales on June 24, 1957 in Pecos, Texas. He graduated from Barstow High School on May 27, 1954. He had a long career as a technician with Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company and also worked as a correctional officer and maintenance technician for the Reeves County Detention Center. He was a veteran and served in the Army. He was an active member of Our Lady of Refuge in Barstow and was also a proud member of funeral honors detail in Reeves County and surrounding areas.

Roberto is preceded in death by his mother, Arcadia Florez; his father, Faustino Florez; his sister, Anita Flores and his brother Jesus Flores.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Geneva Florez. His son Robert, his wife Crissy of Odessa; his son, Danny, his wife Isabel of Greenwood and his daughter Crissy, her husband Matt of Abilene. His brothers Macario and Angel Flores and his sister Estella Granado. His Grandchildren, Samantha, Cassie, Jeremy, Crystal Yvette, Bobby, Phillip and Alyse. His great grandchildren; Brynlee, Madisyn, Austin, Evelyn, Wyatt, Brizbin, Keanu, Kaden, Kyra, and Kalyse. His loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Florez, Bobby Florez, Phillip Hurtado, Matt Perez, Jeremy Morrow, Kevin Cole, Joel Flores and Joe Ray Flores.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10th 9am-9pm. Rosary will be Monday, January 10th 7:30 pm at Pecos Funeral Home. Mask are required at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at Santa Rosa Catholic Church on Tuesday January 11th at 10:00am. Mask are required at the Church. Burial will follow at Barstow Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home .
