Rosendo Galindo

Rosendo Cortez Galindo, 76, of Balmorhea, passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at his residence.  Rosendo was born in Balmorhea to Chano and Luz Galindo on December 25, 1945. He attended school in Balmorhea. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.   He married Mary Ellen Ortega on August 23, 1974 in Balmorhea and they had five children. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 25 years. He was a lifetime Balmorhea resident and a devoted catholic.

Rosendo is preceded in death by his parents Chano and Luz Galindo, brothers Marcos Galindo, Domingo Galindo, Juan Galindo and sister Emily Galindo.

Rosendo is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Galindo, daughter Joann Galindo of Odessa, sons Rosendo Galindo Jr (Valerie) of Odessa, Ruben Galindo of Balmorhea, Richard Galindo (Erica) of Balmorhea, Randy Galindo of Odessa, sister Maria Villareal (Jose) of Odessa, brothers Julian Galindo (Peggy) of Donna, TX and Reynaldo Galindo (Amparo) of Odessa, he has 9 Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rosendo Galindo Jr., Richard Galindo, Randy Galindo, Andrew Galindo, Luis Galindo, and Joshua Galindo

Honorary pallbearers will be Heriberto Mata Jr., Monica Mata, Zaylein Galindo, Hailey Galindo, Richard Galindo Jr., and StellaMaris Galindo

First visitation will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Pecos funeral home in Pecos, Texas. Second visitation will be from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday January 4, 2022 with rosary at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday January 5, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Texas. Burial will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery. Mask are required at all times at both funeral home and church. Arrangements are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.
