Geneva Ruth Sullins Ligon was born May 27, 1920 to J.W. And Eliza Sullins in Washita County, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of 10 children and grew up in Cordell, Ok where she graduated from high school in 1938.
In 1939 she moved to Van Horn, Texas to live and work with one of her sisters and brotherinlaw. There she met S.E. Ligon, Jr. whom she married in Pecos, Texas on May 29, 1940. After WWII, they settled in Pecos and she lived there until 2004 at which time she moved to Midland, TX.
She was a teller at the Security State Bank for 18 years and still spoke about Mr. Holcomb until the day before she passed away. She was a familiar face at the hospital as one of the Ladies of the Hospital Auxiliary where she put in many, many hours of volunteer work. She was also very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Pecos, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school.
Ruth Ligon NaNa went to be with her Lord and Savior April 18, 2014. She was proceeded in death by her 5 sisters, 4 brothers, her parents, and her husband of 45 years, Earl Ligon. She is survived by her son Lee Earl Ligon and his wife Leslie Cole Ligon her granddaughter Leesha Elaine Seidel and her husband Shawn Christopher Seidel her grandson Kenneth Earl Ligon, and her great grandchildren Makenzie Ann Seidel, Branham Earl Ligon, Laney Leann Ligon and Kami Shade Ligon.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 22 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Pecos, interment following at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos. Visitation will be at Pecos Funeral Home Monday April 21, 2014 from 5:007:00 pm.
