Salvador "Rudy" Navarrete

Salvador “Rudy” Navarrete, 87, of Pecos, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021.

Rudy was born in Sierra Blanca, Texas to Concha Luevanos Navarrete and Ramon Navarrete. on April 1, 1934. He went to school in Sierra Blanca. He married his wife Millie on December 8, 1990. He worked many jobs including at the Proving Grounds Test Track as a CDL driver. He always talked about how he loved to drive his big truck and be on the open road. Rudy is described as a strong, courageous man who loved his family with everything he had. His loved ones knew him as an amazing father and grandfather. He was an avid Pecos Eagle fan and hardly missed a game. When he wasn’t cheering on the Eagles, he was cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents Concha and Ramon, siblings: Ramon Navarrete, Natividad Navarrete, and Esperanza Molina.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Millie, his daughters Betty Yrachetta, Bonnie Herrera, Helen and her husband Manuel Fuentes, Brenda and her husband Luis Hegar, and his son Arthur Navarrete and his wife Courtney. Rudy had 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

A viewing and Rosary will be from 10 AM to 8 PM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Homes. Mask are to be worn at the Funeral and Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 6, 2021 at 423 S. Hickory with Brother Kevin Mitchell of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetary. Arrangements are being made by Pecos Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Navarrete, Joe Herrera, Rudy Herrera, Jaime Navarrete, Manuel Fuentes Jr., Joshua Casillas, and Brian Casillas.
