Sofia Baeza

Sofia Baeza, age 74 of Pecos, Texas passed away December 22, 2021 in Pecos, Texas.

Sofia (Zulema) was born in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua to Alfonso Bafidis and Elfida Garcia on February 09, 1947. She went to school in Pecos Texas. She married Jesus Baeza on September 06, 1975 in Pecos, Texas. She was the owner and Operations Manager for American Restaurant and Huck's B-B-Que from 1978 to 1983 and she then became the Manager for Rent to Own from 1983 to 1992 in Pecos, Texas. She then began her career by working as a Commissary Clerk for Reeves County Sheriff's Department for 17 years and retired in April 30, 2010. She was involved in the Christmas for Kids and was the Head Coordinator for 17 years, and received the Hidden Hero / Profile Award in 2001 for her unselfish devotion and commitment to our community from the PECOS AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. She was always willing to lend a hand and help other organizations and charities to raise funds for those in need. She always went above and beyond to help others without ever asking for anything in return.

Sofia Baeza is preceded in death by her Dad, Alfonso Bafidis, Mother, Elfidia Garcia, Brothers, Alfonso Bafidis II, Justo Tarango and Jaime Bafidis.

Sofia Baeza is survived by her husband, Jesus Baeza, her children Bonnie Valles and spouse Suzi Brizzi, Gilbert Valles and spouse Melissa Valles, Bobby Valles and spouse Josie Valles. She has 6 brothers, Teojaris Bafidis , Alfonso Bafidis Ochoa, Isidrio Bafidis Ochoa, Gilberto Bafidis Ochoa, Sergio Bafidis Ochoa, Hector Bafidis Ochoa. She has 4 sisters, Olga Navarrete, Lupe Bafidis Corina Bafidis, Rosario Bafidis. She has 4 grandchildren, Jesse Al, Monique, Bobby II, and Dominic, and she has 3 great-grandchildren, Angelina, Anderson, and Calison.

Pallbearers will be Dominic Valles, Greg Brizzi, Jesse Al Valles, Kade Giesler, Gilbert Valles, Bobby Valles and Bobby Valles II.

Visitation will be from 9am to 9pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 , with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at the Pecos Funeral Home, where masks are required at all times ..

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Catherine Church, where masks are required at all times . Burial will be announced at a future date. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

The family of Sofia Baeza wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Odessa Heart Institute, Home Health, and her daughter Bonnie Valles for being by her side every night to ensure that she would not be shocked by her Zoll Life Vest which is a wearable defibrillator.
