Sylvia Orona

Sylvia Florez Orona, 64, of Pecos, has gone to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2021 in Pecos, TX.

Sylvia was born in Pecos, TX to Catarino Florez and Juanita Torrez on February 9,1957.  She went to school in Pecos, TX.  She was 38 years married to Ricardo Orona. She last worked as a medical clerk for Reeves County Detention Center for 15 years and retired. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, tia, sister, daughter and friend.  She always did above and beyond to help others especially for the ones she loved. Sylvia was known for her strength, kindness and sweet and giving spirit. She was a God- fearing woman who loved Jesus Christ, loved the Church and lived faith-filled life.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents Catarino Florez and Juanita Torrez, her brothers; Hector Florez, Jessie Florez, Ramon Florez.

Sylvia is survived by her husband Ricardo Orona, her children; Julian Christopher Orona & Brenda Villa Orona,  Carlos Mendoza & Chantel Orona Mendoza, Sada Cassandra Orona, her grandchildren; Avril Ybarra, Jordan Ybarra, Ricky Orona, Scarlett Ybarra, Khloe Orona, Sofia Orona and Henry.

The Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday March 11, 2021 at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 12, 2021 attendance for the services guest are required to be at the church to be seated at 9:30 am. at Pecos,  TX  at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery . Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

The family of Sylvia wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Cerna, Dr. Tarin, Reeves County Hospital day and night shift nurses, American Home Health and Hospice, Angie Fierro, Faye Lease, Rosa Cedillo, Santa Rosa de Lima Church, all family and friends for the love and support and all who kept Sylvia in their thoughts and prayers.
