Crews Adams 84, of Balmorhea, passed away on November 16, 2016 in Pecos, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday November 18, 2016 at the Pecos Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 19th 2016 at Pecos Funeral Home. Burial will Military Honors will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery.
Crews was born in Gregg County just outside of Gladewater, Texas to John and Edna Adams on May 21, 1932. Crews Adams gave his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in Crews Baptist Church in 1939. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1951 and continued his education at Sul Ross University where he graduated in 1955 with a degree in Range Animal Husbandry. He joined the Soil Conservation Service in 1955 and moved to Balmorhea, Texas August 8, 1955 to continue his career in agriculture and interest in land management. In 1956 he was drafted into the Army where he served his country as a Military Policeman in Germany. At the end of his service in 1958, he returned to Balmorhea to continue his pursuits in ranching and farming. Crews was very involved in his church and his community. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, NRA, and a contributor to FFA and 4H. He also served on the boards of the Soil and Water Conservation District and the Reeves Co. Water Improvement District #1.
Crews Adams is preceded in death by his parents John and Edna Adams.
Crews is survived by his sister Phyllis Blair, his Nieces Betsy and Sallie Blair, and his Nephew Phillip Blair, 11 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great great nieces. Close friends Misty Rasbery and Steve and Berta Begay.
Pallbearers will be Victor Mondragon, Joey Gordon, Larry Turnbough, Steve Begay, Carlos Gonzales, Bobby Bagley. Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Fuentes, Tommy Trammel, Bill Williams, Mike Martinson.
Memorials may be given to Balmorhea Baptist Church.
