Thomas Renteria Talamantez, 98 of Pecos, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Odessa Texas.
Visitation will be on Sunday January 3, 2016 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday, January 4, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Rosary will be Monday, January 4, 2016 at Pecos Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, with Father Jose de la Cruz Longoria officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
Thomas Talamantez was born to Francisco and Maria Renteria Talamantez on September 18, 1917 in Toyah, Texas. Thomas married Geneva Salcido Florez on September 12, 1942 in Pecos, Texas. Thomas worked as a carpenter for twenty years and was a member of the Carpenters union local 409. Thomas was involved in many civic organizations including the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and was a Boy Scott Troop leader.
Tommy is preceded in death by his wife and best friend Geneva Talamantez, his parents Francisco and Maria, and his son Arvil Talamanatez. Thomas is also preceded in death by his siblings Francisco Talamantez, Luis Talamantez, Manuel Talamantez, Anita T. Nieves, Julia T. Carrasco, Aurora T. Borrego, Amalia T. Alvarez, and a son in law John Rodriguez.
Mr. Talamantez is survived by his loving daughter Yolanda Talamantez Rodriguez of Camarillo, CA, and her children Debbie Rodriguez of Pecos, TX., Tony Rodriguez of Port Hueneme CA., Nick Rodriguez of Camarillo CA., Luke Rodriguez of Camarillo, CA. Thomas is also survived by his great grandchildren Thomas John Martinez, of Brooklyn NY., Clarissa Rodriguez of Moore Park, CA., Tabytha Hauser Rodriguez, of Ventura, CA., Kara Lisa Rodriguez of Temple City, CA., Charlotte Ramirez of Oxnard, CA., Elias John Neal of Moorpark, CA. Thomas is also survived by his son Thomas Talamantez Jr. of Venice CA., daughter Noemi Talamantez and son Santi Talamantez both of Los Angeles, CA.,
Pallbearers will be Sam Borrego Jr., Mario Borrego, Ben Borrego, Alberto Alvarez, Manuel Martinez, Roger Talamantez, Ray Talamantez, and Richard Carrasco Jr.
