Valentina B. Natividad, 91, of Saragosa, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 7, 2025.

Valentina was born to her mother Gabriela Mendoza in Candelaria, Texas on March 18, 1933 and grew up in Marfa, Texas until she married Manuel Natividad. She then moved to Saragosa, Texas where she remained until her passing.

Valentina was a devoted mother who was always there to lend a helping hand in not only raising her own daughter but her nieces and nephews as well. She cherished and loved all her family unconditionally. She was a devout Catholic who, in her younger years, helped with keeping the Church clean and cooking meals for the Church as needed. She was a woman of great faith. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Valentina is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Natividad, mother Gabriela Mendoza, sister Virginia Mondragon, son-in-law Rufus Urquidez Sr. and grandson Rufus Urquidez Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Celia Urquidez of Ingleside, Texas; four grandchildren Isabel Valdez and husband Gabriel, Rebecca Urquidez, Angela Urquidez and husband Ignacio, and Valentin Urquidez all from Ingleside, Texas. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, in addition to her sister Anita Vasquez of Oklahoma, brother Ismael Franco of Dallas, Texas and one niece and three nephews that she helped raise: Veronica Maltos, Kenny Martinez and Mario Martinez Jr. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all who helped and were there for her during her life: Graciela, Israel, Victor, Beto, Kenny, Adrian, Mr. and Mrs. Maltos, Corina Gomez, Rosario Lopez, Veronica and Courtney with the nursing home, Blanca Manjarrez, Michelle Portillo, Home Health, Adult Protective Services, Geneva Martinez, Mario Martinez Sr. for all his support, and all the family and friends, especially Dr. James Tarin who made home visits. Thank you for everything!

Visitation will be on February 11, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pecos Funeral Home in Pecos, Texas and then 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Saragosa, Texas. A Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the church and burial will follow at the Saragosa cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mario Martinez Jr., Vance Mondragon, Kenny Martinez, Adrian Barcenas, Joseph Gonzales, and Julian Urquidez.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Pecos Funeral Home.
