Virginia "Ginger" Lunday Brookshire was born November 2, 1942, in Abilene, Tx. to IG "Doc" & Fran Lunday. The family moved to Pecos, TX in 1948. She graduated from Pecos High School in 1961. She met the love of her life, Halley Brookshire in December 1960 they married July 1, 1961, at 4th & Bois d Arc Church of Christ in Pecos TX. They welcomed their son Scott in 1962 and daughter Michelle in 1966. She became one of Gods angels July 31, 2022.
Ginger was a bookkeeper for 40 years and worked with her husband at Trans-Pecos Electric until her retirement in 2015. She was Halley's helper and right-hand woman. She contributed to the business by making coils to go in electric motors. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. Ginger loved to watch movies/tv and especially westerns. She had collection of about 600 movies. Her hobbies were collecting antique and vintage automobiles with her husband. She was a long-standing member of AACA – West Texas Antique & Classic Car Club. She loved cooking, family, family events (especially Christmas) and family history. She loved to travel and took many wonderful trips with her husband and many family members. The last several years she went on girls’ vacations with her sisters, daughter, niece, and friends. She loved going to the Pecos rodeo. Rodeos were her favorite sport along with Pecos Eagle football. She always told everyone she bled Purple & Gold. She was the Pecos Eagle Booster fan of the year in 2015.
She was preceded in death by Dr. IG Lunday & Fran Lunday Hill and her stepfather Robert "Bob" Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Halley of 61 years, son Scott and wife Sherry Brookshire of Vancouver, WA, daughter Michelle and husband Raymundo Martinez of Pecos, Tx, Grandson Brandon and wife Casara Martinez, of Pecos, Tx, Granddaughters Gabby, Riley, Mia & Magully, sisters Meredith and husband Dean Ayers of Odessa, Tx and Nona Leek of Hurst, Tx. Numerous nieces & nephews.
She loved being a Gigi to her grand puppies Sitka, Sake & CC.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Serrano and staff, Reeves County Hospital and staff, Casara Martinez her caregiver, and Darla Blackstock, American Home Health & Hospices.

Ginger had many friends that thought the world of her. Everyone that knew her thought of her as a kind, loving & caring lady. She was a true Southern Belle.
